Stevens Gas Service Inc. was started by Matthew (Matt) Stevens and his wife Sally in January 1978 when they purchased Mortons Gas in Burlington, Vermont, a cylinder exchange business. In 1980 they purchased their first bulk truck and started hiring employees.
Stevens Gas Service has always been a family business. Now, 25 years later, they have 18 full-time and part-time employees. The staff includes two sons Rick and Michael.
Stevens Gas Service caters to some 8,000 customers in the Northwestern quarter of Vermont. They offer a range of propane energy services. From automated deliveries, to installation of gas products to servicing of propane equipment, Stevens is prompt, reliable and professional.

Propane is one of the lightest, simplest hydrocarbons in existence, and, as a result, is one of the cleanest burning of all alternative fuels. New propane-fueled vehicles can meet the very tough Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) standards.
Propane gas is nontoxic, so it's not harmful to soil and water. Because propane does not endanger the environment, the placement of propane tanks either above or below ground is not regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
